2021 4th of July

Celebrate Independence Day in Cordova!

The Chamber is excited to announce tentative plans for our 2021 4th of July Celebration. Considering the mental health issues created by COVID-19, we are very happy to have found a framework which Cordova’s medical advisors agree can offer necessary safety and mitigation protocols so all Cordovans can celebrate this important holiday to the extent they are comfortable.
  • Bike Parade

Bike/stroll/walk parade starting at CCMC parking lot looping through downtown to end at Hollis Henrichs Park (grassy field) where household groups/bubbles can decorate themselves and their non-motorized vehicles and compete for “best in show”.

  • Fun at the Grassy Field

Volunteers and Chamber staff will facilitate in-person activities for all ages at Hollis Henrichs Park (grassy field) adjacent to Cordova Community Medical Center including the singing of the national anthem, presentation of colors by USCG Fir personnel, and some socially distanced games and activities.

  • Cordova Rocks

Cordova Rocks group will encourage the community to collect rocks and paint them in a patriotic theme at home. In safe bubbles, participants are then encouraged to hide their painted rocks & search for others’ painted rocks around Cordova. Participants can post pictures on the Cordova Rocks Facebook Page or send to us at the Chamber to post. Details will be posted for the event on the Cordova Rocks Facebook group, Cordova Chamber of Commerce Facebook page, here on the Chamber website, and on flyers around town.

  • Food Fair

Try a bite from local eateries offering pop-ups on premises.
