The Sheridan Lake trail is 1.5 miles from the trailhead to the edge of the glacial lake. Hikers can experience the glacier from multiple vantage points along the trail. The trail winds around the glacial moraine and lake, ending at the shoreline. We also showcase the Spruce-Hemlock forest and creek surrounding the trailhead. Our guide will provide our customers with an excellent natural history interpretation of the area. We will witness the significant glacial changes occurring and will create an opportunity to discuss climate change and how it greatly affects our community, as we are dependent on natural resources and healthy ecosystems. They will leave Cordova with an increased knowledge of our rapidly chanfing environment and may be inspired to make productive changes in their own communities.
