Cordova Trail & Covered Spaces Project

Cordova Trail & Covered Spaces Project

Cordova Covered Outdoor Spaces is a vision shared by many people in Cordova, Alaska.  The idea is to create more covered spaces in the Cordova City area.  Cordova is an amazingly picturesque area surrounded by the Chugach National Forest,  Prince William Sound and the Gulf of Alaska.  Beautiful views are everywhere you turn and the weather is always perfect and inviting.  Well, that is not true, the weather is not always inviting, but it is still very beautiful and can be enjoyed even on a not so nice day, if you can get under cover.  Festivals, classes, meetings, Picnics, art activities, school trips, contemplation…..  all of these things could be enjoyed more often and more easily with a few more covered spaces around the Cordova Area.  Covered Spaces enhance the community for citizens and visitors alike.  By connecting covered spaces with informational and educational routes and trails, there is an enormous opportunity to teach about the culture, environment, wildlife and history of Cordova.  Information, trail systems and covered spaces together can multiply the educational and physical activity opportunities around Cordova exponentially.
